Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy Indianapolis
What is pelvic floor therapy?
Pelvic floor rehabilitation is a sub-specialty of Orthopedic Physical Therapy that deals with the assessment, treatment and management of the pelvic floor dysfunction. Pelvic floor physical therapy is a specialized form of rehabilitation focused on addressing dysfunction and disorders of the pelvic floor muscles. It aims to improve pelvic floor strength, coordination, and function, providing relief from symptoms such as pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, and pelvic organ prolapse. The pelvic floor muscles which are similar to the other muscles in your body that move your arms or legs, extend from the pubis in the front to the tail bone at the back. These muscles can get affected singularly or may occur as a result of dysfunction in your low back, hip or the abdomen.
What constitutes the pelvic floor?
The pelvic floor consists of muscles, ligaments and other connective tissues spanning from the pubis-part of the pelvis in the front to the coccyx or the tail bone at the back. Forming a hammock like structure, the pelvic floor houses the bladder, bowels, and the uterus in females.
It must be noted here that the pelvic floor muscles are skeletal muscles, much like the biceps and triceps and are therefore under voluntary control
Pelvic Floor Dysfunction
When the normal functioning of the pelvic floor is hampered, pelvic floor dysfunction can be the result. It can happen due to impairments such as excessive tightness or loose and weak muscles, scar tissue formation in the connective tissues or impingement of a nerve. The symptoms can be varied. In some cases, pain can be referred to the low back or hip.

What Our Patients Say
Posted on Google Nancy BoykoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I was experiencing some acute knee pain for almost two weeks after doing some yardwork. I was debating about going to prompt care when a friend suggested physical therapy. I tried Victor Physical Therapy and surprisingly felt better after some massage/manual therapy. My walking got better and felt more comfortable while I was able to bear more weight. Victor diagnosed it as a hamstring strain and a medical collateral ligament sprain. It was worth the drive from the north side of Indianapolis to his clinic. I highly recommend this Physical Therapist.Posted on Google Derrick ShortTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I sustained sports injury while playing basketball. I busted my ACL and my orthopedic surgeon in Noblesville wanted me to start physical therapy to reduce swelling and increase range of motion to prepare for ACL reconstruction. That's when my wife found Victor Physical Therapy in Indianapolis. So far my experience with Victor, my Physical Therapist has been excellent. I am now moving on with post-surgical rehab with my Victor again. My surgeon is very happy with the outcome and so is my family.Posted on Google Tom CoffeyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have been going to Victor Physical Therapy for about 6 sessions for chronic neck pain. During those times he was able to increase my range of motion and help decrease my pain. Even though with my condition it wasn't long lasting, I found it beneficial seeing my physical therapist. Victor also helped me with my FCE- functtional capacity evaluation for job-related requirements.Posted on Google scott hornTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found Victor to be very interested in your well being. He takes the time to listen to you, explain what has happened and how working with you, you can obtain very good results as I did. After working with the run of the mill Physical Therapy, he is a welcome change. After working with other therapists in Indianapolis, my pain in my back and legs were still an issue, until I met Victor, my physical therapist. He finally fixed my chronic lower back pain and the pain in both my legs. I am now able to walk and sit for a longer period of time, especially while driving. I would highly recommend Victor Physical Therapy to anyone looking for physical therapy services.Posted on Google God is OneTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If you are looking for a great physiotherapist, go see Victor. After spending so much money elsewhere without any results, he managed to treat my knee pain in only two sessions. Highly professional and effective!"thnks victor sirPosted on Google KhatrikingTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My doctor wanted me to do physical therapy for my lower back pain due to spinal stenosis as well as pain in both legs. I had issues with endurance, balance and walking. I was directed to see some physical therapy clinics here locally, I went to couple of them at different times where I did not get any benefit after spending a lot of time and money. After researching review of other physical therapy clinics, I tried Victor Physical Therapy in Indianapolis. After my initial assessment my physical therapist provided me with personalized exercises to build my endurance, gait and balance training as well as postural correction. Victor was also willing to travel to Brownsburg to provide therapy at my residence. I am very pleased with the physical therapy services he provided me with and enjoyed my sessions. The therapy Victor provided has made significant improvements to my pain the endurance and walking. Comparing Victor's therapy with other physical therapy clinics, Victor's Therapy is far better than the other clinics I visited. I highly recommend Victor's Physical Therapy, I really appreciate his honesty and help he has provided. I feel a lot better now.Posted on Google kola cokerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing job helping our daughter with jaw physical therapy after dentist noticed her jaw was offset and low range of motion… showed us what to work on with her jaw physical therapy and also helped with other posture adjustments and physical therapy…Posted on Google Ruby CashTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My grandma fell few months ago. MRI showed tear in her rotator cuff. Her doctor wanted her to do physical therapy prior to surgery. She went to Victor Physical Therapy in Indianapolis and experienced good results with reduced pain and significant increase in range of motion. Hopefully we can skip surgery. She was also experiencing a lot of dizziness after her cataract surgery. Her physical therapist provided her with vestibular therapy and got rid of the vertigo. We are very pleased with the 1:1 physical therapy treatment. My grandma tells me that she got the best physical therapy in Indianapolis of all the other physical therapy clinics she has been too.Posted on Google jamie escueTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Victor is awesome. He is the best physical therapist we have had. We live in Greenfield he came to us. He pushed our mother and she is walking. I would recommend him if u need a good therapist.Posted on Google Vaughn Stultz (Rob)Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I tore my right rotator cuff on 24 May 2025 and due to international travel and insurance issues I wasn’t able to have surgery until 16 August 2025. The delay caused the shoulder to become encapsulated. Because of the severity of the encapsulated shoulder Orthopedic Indy Greenwood recommended I get physical therapy as soon as possible after the surgery. Because I live just north of Beech Grove I did a google search for nearby PT possibilities. I chose to try out Victor Physical Therapy as he is less than 15 minutes from my home and could get me in almost immediately the following week after surgery. I can’t begin to describe the pain, discomfort, and uphill battle I was going to have to regain range of motion and routine use of my dominant right arm. Victor has been amazing in restoring 180 degree of motion and relief of the pain I was experiencing. For shoulders with torn rotator cuff and encapsulation the PT for each is opposed to each other as rotator cuff recovery is to minimize movement during the first 6 weeks while encapsulation dictates motion as soon as possible. So Victor had his work cut out for him and choosing him was the best decision I made, so much so that I referred my wife Nancy to him for ruptured left hand tendon surgery PT and she has done amazing as well. I cannot recommend Victor more highly, give him a try, you won’t be disappointed!!!
